Buying GuideFoldable Phones You Can’t Buy in the UK: Oppo Find N6, Vivo X Fold 6 and Huawei Mate X7
By Alex Turner • Updated 10 October 2026
Apple’s iPhone Duo is one of a growing number of book-style foldables, and some of the most talked-about rivals are not sold through UK stores. This guide covers three of them: the Oppo Find N6, the Vivo X Fold 6 and the Huawei Mate X7. It says where each is on sale, what it offers on paper, and which foldables you can actually buy here instead. Everything below was checked on 10 October 2026, and we have not tested any of these phones.

| Where it is on sale | UK status | |

Oppo Find N6
Oppo’s book-style foldable launched in China on 17 March and went on sale in select global markets from 20 March, but Oppo told reporters it has no plans to launch it in Europe, according to 9to5Google. Its predecessor, the Find N5, skipped Europe too, and Oppo’s UK website lists neither phone. Trusted Reviews put the position in its review headline: a great foldable that you probably can’t buy.
On paper it has an 8.12in inner screen and a 6.62in cover screen, a 6,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera with a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto (70mm equivalent), the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and ColorOS 16 on Android 16. It weighs 225g, is 8.93mm thick folded and carries IP56, IP58 and IP59 ratings (9to5Google). There is no UK price.
Vivo X Fold 6
Vivo’s foldable went on sale on 1 October through its official online store in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and reached Austrian retail stores on 8 October, according to Basic Tutorials. Vivo hasn’t announced a European price. Leaker Roland Quandt expects about €2,199 for the 12GB/512GB model, which is a rumour (Android Authority).
The UK isn’t on the list. Tech Advisor doesn’t expect a UK launch: it noted that Vivo’s UK website says the company has paused its business here for the time being, and that last year’s X Fold 5 “global” launch was limited to Asia.
As announced by Vivo for Europe, the X Fold 6 has an 8.02in inner screen and a 6.51in cover screen (up to 5,000 nits), a 6,900mAh battery, a weight from 228g, a thickness of 4.4mm when open, a 200MP Zeiss main camera with a Zeiss telephoto (70mm equivalent), the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chip and IPX8/IPX9 water protection.
Huawei Mate X7
Huawei brought the Mate X7 to France in January at €2,099, according to L’Éclaireur, several months after its Chinese launch. The report named no other European country. Huawei’s UK phones page, which we checked on 10 October, lists the Mate XT tri-fold but no Mate X7.
The phone ships without Google apps and services, which Huawei has been barred from using on its phones since 2019, so what you can run on it is limited. Specifications reported at its European launch include an 8in inner screen and a 6.49in cover screen, a 5,600mAh battery, a 3.5x optical zoom camera and IP59 protection, and a thickness of 4.5mm when open (TechNetBooks).
Should you import one?
You can buy phones sold in other markets from overseas or grey-market sellers, but check four things first: whether you’ll get a UK warranty and repairs, whether the phone supports the 4G and 5G bands UK networks use, what import duty or VAT you’ll pay, and whether the software, including Google apps and your banking apps, works the way you need. For a phone that costs around £2,000, we would rather buy one that has a UK warranty.
