Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated 18 August 2026.

This policy explains what personal data SmartphonesNetwork collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

SmartphonesNetwork (smartphonesnetwork.com) is an independent smartphone publication operating in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, contact accounts@infonestdigital.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Newsletter subscriptions. If you submit the signup form we store the email address you give us, the date, the page you subscribed from, and the IP address the request came from (used to limit abuse of the form). Lawful basis: your consent.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. This records information such as approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed and referring site. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
  • Server logs. Our host records standard technical logs, including IP addresses, as part of operating the server securely.

We do not collect payment details, and we do not ask you to create an account.

Cookies and similar technologies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish between visitors and sessions. The site also stores a small preference in your browser to remember whether you chose light or dark mode — that never leaves your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (for example Amazon) may set its own cookie to attribute a purchase to us. That processing is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for which programmes we use.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the site: our web host, Google (Analytics), and — once enabled — our email delivery provider for sending the newsletter. Each processes data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings. Server logs are kept for a short operational period by our host.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email accounts@infonestdigital.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all marketing email from us.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
