Buying GuideBest Foldable Phones UK 2026: iPhone Duo, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Pixel 11 Pro Fold and More
By Alex Turner • Updated 10 October 2026
Apple’s arrival changes the foldable market overnight. The iPhone Duo goes on sale on 23 October, joining five book-style foldables already on sale in the UK — and for the first time there’s a genuine choice at every point between light and long-lasting, cheap-ish and camera-first.
We haven’t tested these phones ourselves. Our picks are based on manufacturer specifications and UK prices, with review findings attributed to the outlets that recorded them.

Prices are UK RRPs for the cheapest model: 256GB, except * 512GB, the only UK configuration. Weights and thickness vary slightly by colour on some models.
Our picks
1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
Best for most people£1,699 (256GB). The cheapest current book-style foldable is also the lightest, at 201g — lighter than many ordinary flagships — and 9.7mm thick when shut. Its 5.5in cover screen is wider than before, so it works like a normal phone when folded, and Samsung promises seven years of OS updates.
The catches: no telephoto lens, and an IP48 rating that only protects against dust particles larger than 1mm — a real consideration for a phone with a hinge.
2. Apple iPhone Duo
Best for iPhone users£1,999 (256GB), on sale 23 October. The only way to get a foldable without leaving iOS, and the only one here besides the Pixel and Honor with full IP68 dust resistance. Two 48MP cameras, Apple’s A20 Pro chip and Touch ID in the side button.
The catches: at 254g it’s the heaviest phone in this guide, there’s no telephoto, it’s eSIM-only, and the inner screen runs only two apps side by side. Apple hasn’t published AppleCare+ pricing yet. We haven’t seen full reviews, so this pick is provisional.
3. Honor Magic V6
Best battery and thinnest£1,999.99 (16GB/512GB, the only UK model). The thinnest foldable on sale here at 8.75mm folded (white model; other colours are about 9mm) with the biggest battery by a distance: 6,660mAh, with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging. It adds a 64MP 3x periscope camera and IP68/IP69 protection. Tech Advisor called it “a foldable that can do it all”.
The catches: the highest RRP here for a single configuration, though Honor has offered sizeable launch coupons and discounts, so check the live price.
4. Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Best zoom£1,799 (256GB). The only foldable in the UK with a 5x optical telephoto, plus IP68, an 8in inner screen and seven years of updates. If you photograph things at a distance, nothing else here comes close.
The catches: 239g and 10.1mm thick folded, and Tech Advisor’s review found that it “feels extremely last-gen” next to this year’s thinner rivals.
5. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Biggest screens£1,899 (256GB). Samsung’s new top model has an 8in inner screen and a 6.5in cover screen, a 200MP main camera with a 3x telephoto, and a 5,000mAh battery, at 215g.
The catches: still IP48, and £200 more than the standard Fold 8.
6. Motorola Razr Fold
Strong first attempt£1,799.99 (16GB/512GB). Motorola’s first book-style foldable has an 8.1in inner screen, three 50MP cameras including a 3x telephoto, and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging. Stuff called it an impressively well-rounded first try.
The catches: at around 243g and 10mm folded it’s on the chunky side, and it uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 rather than the faster Elite chip in its rivals.
Prefer a flip?
Clamshell foldables are smaller and much cheaper. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 costs £1,149 (256GB) and weighs 180g; Motorola’s Razr 70 Ultra is £1,199.99 with a 5,000mAh battery, and the standard Razr 70 is £799.99. None of them has a telephoto lens.
Not sold in the UK
Some well-regarded foldables aren’t officially available here, including the Oppo Find N6, Vivo X Fold 6 and Huawei Mate X7, and Samsung confirmed its tri-fold would not launch in the UK. You can import them, but you give up a UK warranty, may lose some 5G bands, and a foldable screen is the last thing you want to repair without local support. Our guide to foldable phones you can’t buy in the UK covers where each is on sale.
How to choose
Weight. The spread is 53g, from the Fold 8 (201g) to the iPhone Duo (254g). If you mainly use the outer screen, lighter matters more than anything on this list.
Dust resistance. IP48 phones are rated against water but only against dust particles larger than 1mm. The Pixel, Honor and iPhone are IP68, which is the better bet on beaches and in pockets.
Zoom. Only the Pixel (5x), Fold 8 Ultra, Magic V6 and Razr Fold (3x) have telephoto lenses. The Fold 8 and iPhone Duo crop their main sensor.
Repair cover. Inner-screen repairs are expensive on every foldable. Price the manufacturer’s cover, such as Samsung Care+ or AppleCare+, before you buy, not after.
